Direct Dry Cooling: API 661 Air Cooled Heat Exchangers

Process aircooled heat exchangers are designed to condense and cool fluids with high pressure (< 400 bar) in petrochemical and gas plants. Heat exchange surface is made of round finned tubes, fed by inlet and outlet header boxes. Finned tube bundles are installed flat on a structure, they are blown by fans and drivers electrically driven

Thanks to its 2500 bundles production capacity and 250 different design items capacity per year GEA Batignolles Technologies Thermiques has delivers the largest projects developed worldwide. The 3 factories are located near to harbours to ease ocean deliveries in "modules" as well as in bulk cargo ready for erection on site.

Partnerships are being developed where necessary to serve specific markets : Russia, South Korea, South Eastern Asia.

Toting in house software

It has been developed:

  • to generate preliminary drawing with loading data and foot print at the early stage of projects development.
  • to allow a fast track detail engineering to be launched as soon as contract is awarded. Finite element models are used for stress analysis of critical components.

Thermal design

In house design and costing software used with Xace© from HTRI© allow to optimize aircooler sizing.

CFD is developed to model critical phase of aircoolers operation.
